Streetwear goes Haute

I dont know how I feel about this "exclusive Adidas SLVR AW 09 video" i stumbled upon on the Nylon Magazine website. Perhaps I'm just too a.d.d for black and white combo'd with down tempo instrumental background tunes.

*yawn*

I do like the designs though; theyre refreshingly simple and yet oh so chic, with hollow-neck jerseys, tight shiny leggings, and a fusion of comfort and style not seen since the days of Norma Kamali, as reported by Nylon Magazine.

check it out. share your opinon.

Black drops of Gold

I've been listening to the It's Blitz! album by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's all day. I'm trying to be creative for this weekend... Given that we love fashion here at Rebellionheirs, I came across some really breathtaking art work by Anneli Olander. She's an illustrator from Sweden & I am mad about her pieces. She works with different types of inks on fabriano paper (something I've never done) & adds a touch of water color. I was feeling a bit lazy, but once I stumbled upon Anneli's work, I must admit the creativity vibes started to bloom. Speaking of bloom, are you going to BLOOMFEST this weekend and visiting us? Because you should.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION: a polaroid pary

I, Faith will be part of ISM:'s Polaroid party & limited edition book.

ISM: and Hibbleton Gallery pay tribute to instant film and the discontinued, long-lost, but never forgotten Polaroid 600 Series with a gallery exhibition + limited edition book.

The opening reception of INSTANT GRATIFICATION: a polaroid party is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday August 7th, 2009 at the Hibbleton Gallery in Fullerton, California. Yes, Orange County, but you must admit that Polaroid has done wonders & made its mark in the art/photography world. Let's be grateful! This event also happens to coincide with the projected date of expiration for the Polaroid 600 Series.

So, lets bow our heads in remembrence of the Polaroid 600 Series.

...you will not be forgotten

Inspired, anyone?

So, I'm doing my first photography show at the end of August. Location and time are TBA right now. Anyway, I could not resist mentioning Monika Stojak's work and letting ya'll know how much respect I have for this woman. Let's not forget that she's only 18. I've been browsing through photographers that inspire me and she's definitely on the list. Have a look-see.

Now, let's take some photographs...

Fashion Trend and Photo Contest: Le Harem Pant

Looks like the Harem Pant might not be a bad trend after all; especially when paired with hip vintage pieces and super cute strappy heels or wedges. Of course we've seen our fair share of Harem pants that would have been better off never created, but we're definitely declaring this trend as A-okay! Its totally do-able if you keep the proportions in perspective.

What do you think about this hot trend? Yay or Nay?

Have a pair of your own? Show us how you sport em!
Send in a photo of you all dolled up in your favorite pair of Harem pants, and if we dig the look you're rockin; we'll post your photo up on our blog to help inspire others that also want to rock the trend! Good Luck!

Resurrection

Vintage Chanel
circa 1980's

Source: www.wwd.com

Chanel connoisseurs eager for a taste of the Eighties and early Nineties should head to Resurrection, the bicoastal boutique hosting a sale of the iconic French fashion house’s vintage accessories.

Logo-laden pendant necklaces and charm bracelets are being sold beside grunge-friendly thick chokers and patent accessories, with prices ranging from $500 for jewelry to $3,200 for an overnight bag.

The sale was prompted by a recent acquisition of Chanel pieces from a private collector who amassed the items over the past two decades, including a patent black bag with gold chain detailing and waist-length pendant necklaces decorated with cobalt-blue beads.

Now, how cool is that?

And of course, a little history on Bloom before you attend:

(source) www.blogdowntown.com

Bloom, a legit actor/playwright and longtime activist in the gentrification of downtown Los Angeles --- whose achievements resulted in the L.A. City Council naming a section of Los Angeles after him --- died mid-morning on July 13th in Los Angeles following a seven-year battle with cancer. He was 59.

Bloom, who owned and operated Bloom's General Store since 1994 in the Arts District of Los Angeles, was one of the forces responsible for bringing the Arts District much needed recognition. A sampling of his numerous achievements included bringing the community a bus route, 30 street lights, 75 trees, plus being active in the naming of the area known now known as the Arts District.

On July 3rd 2009, the Los Angeles City Council honored Bloom by officially approving the Motion to rename Third and Traction in Downtown Los Angeles Joel Bloom Square.

The Dead Weather CD Release: less than 2 days remaining....

Jack White has gone and done it again; And I'm bursting with ridiculous excitement because of it!

The Dead Weather , a gritty quartet featuring lead vocalist, Alison Mosshart of the duo, The Kills, releases their debut album in the states in less than two days!

Instead of fronting the group with an electric guitar—as in the White Stripes and his other current act, the Raconteurs—Jack White primarily plays drums and shares vocals for the new act.

According to Wall Street Journal online, "The new group took shape last winter during what was intended as a one-off recording session. Next came the group’s single, “Hang You From the Heavens,” built around a grizzled riff by guitarist Dean Fertita, and featuring churning drums from Mr. White."

And, quite frankly the song kicks ass; naturally leaving Mr. White and Miss Mosshart's fan base feigning for more.

While currently on a 28+ date tour,
The Dead Weather’s debut album, “Horehound”, will be released in Europe on July 13th and in North America on July 14th (less than 2 days from now). We're pretty friggin stoked about it, too!

Visit their website for details on concert tickets, and other cool bits of dead weather related info.

We Heart LA: An Art Walk Success + Website Update

i heart la Pictures, Images and Photos
Art Walk Success:

The Downtown LA Art Walk, July 9th, was a huge success, yet again, for The Rebellionheirs! We sold Q U I T E a bit and also met so many amazing celebrities and individuals that stopped by and shopped our booth; all with their own incredibly unique sense of style!

The Rebellionheirs offered, yet again, collections from local designers; Biya, Johnny Was, Pete & Greta, For Love and Liberty and 3J Workshop; at up to 75% off the retail price. We often carry the same items as Neimans, Saks, Bloomies, and Anthropologie; No one has any trouble realizing our deals are THE BEST DEALS IN TOWN.

Here is a photo of our booth as the event began. Our booth just keeps getting better, and honestly, we're mighty proud!

Thank you again to everyone that came out and showed their support.
We're quite excited and looking forward to more events, similar to this, in the Downtown LA area.

And now for our website update:

Over the past couple of days, we've been working on photographing our remaining merchandise from the artwalk, and will be uploading onto our website, where you'll be able to purchase goods with a credit card, and have delivered right to your door.

We're pretty down to earth Janes, here at The Rebellionheirs, and we know our photography skills are definitely lacking; so to make your shopping experience that much better, we're planning a REAL photoshoot with REAL models and a REAL pin-up photographer, Michael Calas. Michael is a really talented photographer with an amazing portfolio. We know his photographic talent will help you to be able to see online, how amazing our selection really is.

For now, though, we're uploading the artsy (hah!) images we currently have, along with their price, size, and description so you can buy what pieces you know you want, right away. The remaining pieces of our collection will be available for a Limited Time Only, though; so when they're up, GET EM WHILE YOU CAN!

Thank you again, Downtown LA. WE HEART YOU.

Lily

Lily Allen, whom never ceases to surprise me with her wardrobe choices; is snapped here, Monday, while at Spectator Magazine in Westminster, London, rocking neon leopard print leggings with her oh-so-enviable, Sergio Rossi purple slingback platform sandals.

The artist completed her ensemble with a bitchin
black jacket with peep-hole, fringed back; which has me drooling over here!

check it!

Cant say I'm too enviable of the blue Chanel purse she's seen here, toting around; but suuuurrrriously....snag one for me in black, and I wont complain. Not a damn word.

Oh, and while we're at it; since I cant get this damn Lily Allen tune out of my head,
(for days now; literally)

I'm going to share it with you!
You can thank me later

...no really....thank me later
