r.i.p. dear alexander mcqueen

"I get my ideas out of my dreams… if you're lucky enough to use something you see in a dream, it is purely original. It's not in the world -- it's in your head. I think that is amazing."

tailored

sartorial (adj.): Of or relating to a tailor, tailoring, or tailored clothing

I've always admired Scott Schuman's, the Sartorialist; a fashion photography blog selected as one of Time Magazine's Top 100 Design Influencers, as well as being one of my inspirations for starting the Rebellionheirs. Scott Schuman holds a special place in my heart, as well as a permanent #1 spot on my list of top sites.

With the release of Scott's book (also titled the Sartorialist), I feel rather compelled to not only share with you some of my favorite images from his site, he has captured along the years; however also CONGRATULATE him for this amazing achievement.

You should definitely check out his fashion photography blog as well as his videos, as each one is truly impressive and stimulating.

Perhaps he will become a favorite of yours as well...

hard to imagine

Resurrection

Vintage Chanel
circa 1980's

Source: www.wwd.com

Chanel connoisseurs eager for a taste of the Eighties and early Nineties should head to Resurrection, the bicoastal boutique hosting a sale of the iconic French fashion house’s vintage accessories.

Logo-laden pendant necklaces and charm bracelets are being sold beside grunge-friendly thick chokers and patent accessories, with prices ranging from $500 for jewelry to $3,200 for an overnight bag.

The sale was prompted by a recent acquisition of Chanel pieces from a private collector who amassed the items over the past two decades, including a patent black bag with gold chain detailing and waist-length pendant necklaces decorated with cobalt-blue beads.

Now, how cool is that?

Remembering MJ (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

We know we're (more than) a couple days late on this post; however our hearts and prayers continue go out to Michael Jackson and his family that survived him. We are deeply saddened and still quite shocked by his unfortunate and sudden death, that occurred June 25, 2009, at the age of 50.

Michael Jackson was not only a music legend, but a style icon as well, whether it was his famous glitter glove; his red leather jacket from "Thriller"; the famous black hat and his black pencil pants combo'd with his white socks and black loafers; the black raybans. It all became the rage at one point in time, as fans around the globe wanted to look and be like Michael Jackson; in any way they could. I mean, he was only le King of Pop, of course!

But then came the controversy- True MJ fans supported the King of Pop through the good, the bad and the ugly. Sure MJ got a little kookie for a while (we're not afraid or ashamed to admit that!); however the deep rooted love and commitment his fans held and continue to hold even after his passing, is proof that this individual; this artist, was more than just that. He was and always will be considered a legend everywhere.

In honor of the late King of Pop we found some of our favorite (and most iconic) photos to share with you. May MJ rest in peace in the heavens, and forever in our hearts. xo
